Manchester, sometimes you rain a bit too much
On a day when I was doing my first Print Fair, waking up in Liverpool to quite pleasant skies and then travelling back up the M62 (18 v’s 19), the promise of that weather existing over Manchester proved too much. It was with typical aplomb that Manchester’s renowned precipitation (yes, I noted the BBC’s attempt to encourage the nation to learn a wider and more varied vocabulary through it’s weather reports) came, saw and damn well washed out the event (not literally thankfully).
Exhibiting alongside Do Not Touch, the burgeoning Manchester fashion brand, we found going a little slow, (hopefully not mistakenly) put down to a combination of the weather and the couple of weeks still to go to the mad, last ditch scramble for Xmas presents.
Still the acid test was whether we sold anything and luckily we both managed to sell a few items, so that was a result. Thank you to those of you who found the time to brave the weather and to part with your hard earned pennies. We hope you really enjoy your purchases, or those you bought them for do so.
Some good lessons will be learned from the first attempt at doing a Print Fair and hopefully the next time one pops up, the sun will find a way of breaking through our beloved grey skies and the rain will hold off for one day at least!!!!
